At present Linda is Principal of the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, UK.
As well as her post at the Royal Northern College of Music, Linda works as a freelance professional clarinettist, regularly performing and teaching at institutions across the UK, mainland Europe, America, Asia and Australia (more information on this in the Performance section). She is also the UK representative for Howarth Clarinets.
Linda has delivered masterclasses, lecture recitals and research papers at a significant number of institutions in the UK, including most of the major music conservatoires and larger university music departments, as well as at the Institute of Musical Research, London University.
Overseas, Linda has given performances and masterclasses at prestigious institutions including: Beijing Conservatory; University of California, Los Angeles; College-Conservatory, Cincinnati; Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y.; Florida State University; Geidai Institute, Tokyo; University of Illinois; Conservatoire de Montreal, Indiana University; Northwestern State University, Louisiana; Queensland Conservatorium, Brisbane, Vancouver Academy of Music and Victoria Conservatory.
Linda is a regular contributor to national and international conferences, including the Mid-West Conference, Chicago (concerto performance); Sonic Arts Network (electronics performance in Belfast); ICA International ClarinetFests (electronics performances in Belgium and Stockholm); WASBE (concertos in Lucerne and Cincinnati).
